Staff/Student Consultative Committee
Student input to the general running of the course and its academic content is normally through the Staff-Student Consultative Committee which is made up of elected representatives of students enrolled on the course together with the Course/Subject Director and some of the academic staff. This should be the route for comments, suggestions and complaints about the course and its organisation, other than those that affect just an individual student. You will also be asked to comment on the teaching of individual modules by means of questionnaires or other feedback mechanisms as part of the University's system of quality assurance in teaching. (extract taken from student handbook)
Please note that the dates of Staff/Student Consultative Committee meetings will be published on the online notice board section of this website.
Raising a matter at a meeting...
If you would like to have a matter discussed at the next meeting of the committee then you should contact on of the Student Representatives listed below. They should then report back to you after the meeting or you can always check the minutes of the meeting yourself to find out what happened.
Minutes from staff/student consultative committee meetings...
You should regularly check the minutes from recent meetings to keep up-to-date on recent developments, especially as on occasion students are expected to take action based on the outcome of a meeting. The minutes of recent meetings are displayed on the green noticeboards within the iMac Suite (16E28).
