YoYo
This page although dedicated to YoYo is biased towards the Russell
yoyos. Over the last twenty years the only opportunities to Yo have been
provided by the Russell/Coke partnership so other brands have untill recently
been unavailable in N.Ireland. I dont know the complete history of the
Russell company but here is what I do know.
Duncan once had a champion called Jack Russell who went on to form
his own Company promoting Coke products around the world except the USA
where they simply manufactured and sold yoyos. In 1997 Jack Russell retired
and the company is now run by his son Ken (see below for photograph). Untill
recently the Russell yoyo (sold in Ireland and Britain as Spinners) was
the only brand well known outside of America and still very popular here
in Ireland. My son entered and won a competition organised by Ken and is
now one of his team touring the world. So excuse me for being biased but
Russell has provided us with a lot of fun over the years when no one else
was interested in this little island and they do provide my son's bread
and butter.
ANYONE READING THIS PAGE. HAVE YOU EVER HEARD OF THE PROTON FROM
TIMEOUT. I have one and would like another. It was purchased in a store
in Marseille. Looks and plays like an RB2. Any info please e-mail me (address
