This issue of Hypotenuse, like its predecessor, comes after a long gap. Again, in apologising, I have to appeal to a combination of personal and professional circumstances that have made it difficult for me to devote the necessary time to editing the material.

For reasons of economy, and bearing in mind the growing ease of electronic access, this and any subsequent issues of Hypotenuse will be published only on Internet, as part of the Northern Ireland Mathematics Forum.
