a two day, professional development course for teachers.
7th and 8th June 2001
at The University of Ulster at Jordanstown, Room 16C30.
We shall be using the Texas Instruments TI-83 calculator.
While the course is aimed primarily at 6th Form teachers, others who teach Key Stages 3 and 4 will also find the course useful in that it will include basic techniques. The course assumes no prior knowledge in the use of a graphics calculator, but those with some experience will still benefit.
There are 30 places available, and it will run with a minimum of 10.
The price of the two-day course will be £40 and this includes coffee, tea and all printed resource material. (Lunch will be available for purchase in the University’s canteens.). In addition, each person attending will be given a Texas Instruments Preferential Order Form which will allow teachers or schools to purchase one each of up to four different products at substantially discounted prices. For example, a TI-83 Plus view-screen calculator can be purchased for £47 against a retail price of £78 (including VAT) and the view-screen panel can be purchased for £83 against a retail price of £141.
To reserve a place on the course, please return a reply slip with your cheque. The reply slip may be downloaded as reply.doc or you may print off the web page reply.html. Your cheque should be made payable to "The University of Ulster", and should be sent to
