The Casio can calculate not only the coefficient of correlation, r, but also the regression line of y on x. The first step is to set up the calculator ready for the data. This is achieved by selecting REG from the main menu and pressing [EXE]. The following screen will appear.

2. If the top line does not read RUN / LIN-REG then the mode must be changed to linear regression mode by the following procedure.

Press [SHIFT] [SET UP], select REG MODEL and press [F1] to choose the linear model. Press [EXIT] to finish.

3. The data can now be entered. Press [SHIFT] [CLR] [F2] [EXE] [EXIT]; this will clear all statistical data. Now enter the data as follows.

[3] [2] [F3]
[4] [7] [F1]
[3] [6] [F3]
[5] [3] [F1]
[4] [5] [F3]
[5] [9] [F1]
[5] [2] [F3]
[5] [8] [F1]
[5] [5] [F3]
[6] [2] [F1]
[5] [8] [F3]
[7] [0] [F1]
[6] [5] [F3]
[6] [9] [F1]

4. Now that the data has been entered press [F6] to calculate the regression coefficients. The following screen will appear.

5. Pressing the keys [F1] [ENTER] [F2] [ENTER] [F3] [ENTER] allows the values of A, B and r to be displayed. Check that you obtain the following values.

6. This represents the regression line y = A + Bx.
